Quintin "Q" Dailey (born
January 22 ,1961 inBaltimore, Maryland ) is an American former professionalbasketball player. A 6'3" guard from theUniversity of San Francisco , he played for theChicago Bulls ,Los Angeles Clippers , andSeattle SuperSonics of theNBA .Dailey's career would be overshadowed by a series of personal problems, most notably allegations of rape which stemmed from an incident at the University of San Francisco.
Illinois chapters of theNational Organization for Women protested outside of the Chicago Bulls' ticket office after the team selected Dailey in the1982 NBA Draft . Dailey also missed many games over the course of his career due to drug problems, and during February 1985 he had to be hospitalized forcocaine use. When healthy, however, Dailey was a productive player. He earned a spot on the NBA All-Rookie Team during the1982-83 NBA season , and during the 1983-84 season he averaged 18.2 points per game. He played sporadically until the Sonics released him in 1992, having scored 7,470 points in his career.Dailey attended the
