Ranjit Trevor Edward (Born
June 8 ,1962 ) is aSri Lanka n bornIndia nastronomer andwriter . Most famous of his writing was onMass Dilation based on theGeneral Theory of Relativity . He was awarded Fellowship at theRoyal Astronomical Society in 2002. In 1999 he calculated the exact time of theLeonid Meteor Shower ; a very accurate calculation without the assistance of any optical instruments in Sri Lanka. He is highly regarded for his talent in the mathematical and theoretical conceptualization oftime andmass dilation . During the period 2001 to 2005 he intensively researched the area ofAstrology . His work is due to be published by early 2009. He currently resides inSweden .Early life
Was born in
Colombo , the city of Ceylon (nowSri Lanka ) on June 8, 1962. His father, Jeyaraj William Edward worked as an officer for the Mercantile Bank. His family belonging to theNadar (caste) community originally hailed from the village of Sarvakaramadam,Thirunelveli , inTamil Nadu ,South India . He Grew up inColombo and was educated at St. Thomas' College [http://www.stcmount.sch.lk/] a prestigious private English school. In 1983 a huge (SeeBlack July ) Ethnic conflict broke out between the minority Tamils and the majority Sinhalese. His parent decided to move back toIndia and settled inMadras (NowChennai ) the city ofTamil Nadu . Here he obtained his degree in Aeronautical Engineering at the Hindustan Institute of Engineering Technology [http://www.hindustancollege.com/] . Continued his higher education inMadras ,South India . In 1988 he completed his post graduate studies at The National Institute of Information Technology [http://www.niit.com/] in India in Advanced Systems Management. His interest in astronomy began at a very early age. At a very early age he was able to identify most of the common and better known constellations in the Zodiac. There is no record of any formal education in the field of Astronomy or Astrophysics. In 1988 he married Heshani Sothiraj, who encouraged him to develop his interest in the field which led to a Fellowship at the Royal Astronomical Society in 2002.
