Great Falls, Virginia , asuburb ofWashington, DC , she isGreek American and a practicing member of theMormon faith. She is the youngest of three children, with a sister, Ann, and brother, Philip.Her father,
Tom C. Korologos , worked as a topCapitol Hill lobbyist ; a Congressional liaison during the Nixon and Ford presidential administrations; and worked closely with PresidentGeorge W. Bush . From 2004 to 2007, he served as theUS Ambassador toBelgium . Her mother, Joy, was a homemaker and chairwoman of theFairfax County School Board, who died in 1997 from abrain cancer melanoma .Cale attended

DePaul University , Cale originated the role of Suzanne in theSteppenwolf Theatre production ofSteve Martin 's "Picasso at the Lapin Agile " inChicago and came toLos Angeles with the production in 1995, whereCandice Bergen spotted her and later offered Cale the recurring role of McGovern, a reporter in "Murphy Brown ".Soon after, Cale was starring in two different comedies on two different networks simultaneously. She played a sassy waitress in "Local Heroes" and portrayed the neurotic wife of comedian
Dave Chappelle in "Buddies".She then went to
New York to appear in numerous stage shows, appearing on Broadway in "The Night of the Iguana " and followed by playing her favorite role asGilda Radner in Broadway's "Bunny, Bunny ". When she returned toLos Angeles , she guest-starred in two episodes ofNBC 's "The Naked Truth" asTea Leoni 's sister and "Cybill " as Cybill Sheridan's long lost niece.After a successful career as a television and Broadway actor, she first hesitated when asked to audition for the drama "Providence". Cale combined both comedic and dramatic elements in her character, Joanie, of an unwed mother.

July 29 ,2006 , she married Los Angeles screenwriter Michael Lisbe at Sopris Mountain Ranch inBasalt, Colorado .Cale currently resides in
