Geoscience Australia ] ) is a coastal headland inAustralia , forming the border ofNew South Wales and Victoria.It lies within the
Nadgee Nature Reserve on the NSW side, and theCroajingolong National Park on the Victorian side. The seas around the point are theCape Howe Marine National Park .The point was named by
Captain Cook when he passed it on20 April 1770 , honouringRichard Howe, 1st Earl Howe who wasTreasurer of the Navy at that time. The coordinates Cook gave ("Latitude 37 degrees 28 minutes South; Longitude 210 degrees 3 minutes West ") are almost exactly the modern surveyed location.
