10 February 1960 –20 November 2003 ) was an Englishactor who was best known for playing Sir Guy of Gisburne in thetelevision series "Robin of Sherwood ".He was educated at
Marlborough College , leaving at 16 to join theNational Youth Theatre . He left there in 1978 to study at theRoyal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), which, in turn, he left in 1980, to appear inJohn Boorman ’s film "Excalibur" asMordred . In 1989 Robert left acting, but returned to his acting career in 1995. Sometime during his youth, he trained as a professionalpolo player and worked on a ranch inArgentina . He was renowned as a genuinely expert and experienced horseman and was an accomplished swordsman and former competitive archer.Addie was married and divorced three times. He had three children: Alexander, Alastair and Kaitlin. He died on
20 November 2003 , aged 43, after a short battle withlung cancer .Filmography
