- Kalkitos
Kalkitos was an art based leisure magazine for children. It was created by
The Gillette Company 's paper division.fact|date=August 2008 Hugely popular in Europe, South East Asia and Central America, they comprised of a printedcardboard scene devoid of people, cars, etc. and a transparent sheet of coloured transfers containing people, vehicles, weapons, explosions or animals.Chromolithography
These could then be applied on to the empty scene through a process called
chromolithography . this was accomplished by rubbing the back of the transparent plastic holding material with a soft pencil. Clever part application of transfers could result in a character with an arrow sticking out of his head or people dismembered by explosions. Kalkitos often appeared in conjunction with commercial tie-ins such asStar Wars orScooby Doo .External links
