Kalkitos

Kalkitos

Kalkitos was an art based leisure magazine for children. It was created by The Gillette Company's paper division.fact|date=August 2008 Hugely popular in Europe, South East Asia and Central America, they comprised of a printed cardboard scene devoid of people, cars, etc. and a transparent sheet of coloured transfers containing people, vehicles, weapons, explosions or animals.

Chromolithography

These could then be applied on to the empty scene through a process called chromolithography. this was accomplished by rubbing the back of the transparent plastic holding material with a soft pencil. Clever part application of transfers could result in a character with an arrow sticking out of his head or people dismembered by explosions. Kalkitos often appeared in conjunction with commercial tie-ins such as Star Wars or Scooby Doo.
