"The Sligo Champion" is a weekly local newspaper published every Wednesday in Sligo, County Sligo in the Republic of Ireland. It was founded in 1836. It contains local news about County Sligo and surrounding counties, including neighbouring parts of Counties Leitrim and Roscommon.

According to the [http://www.abc-ireland.ie/ Audit Bureau of Circulations] , the paper had an average weekly circulation of 12,108 for the period from 2 July to 30 December, 2007, making it the twelfth most popular regional weekly newspaper in the Republic of Ireland.
