Łuków [IPA-pl|'|ł|u|k|u|f] is a city in eastern Poland with 30,727 inhabitants as of January 1 2005. Situated in the Lublin Voivodeship since 1999, Łuków was previously in Siedlce Voivodeship from 1975-1998. It is the capital of Łuków County.

Łuków was established about 1233 as a fortress town guarding the Polish borded against Yotvingians and Lithuanians - tribes from the East. Between 1250 and 1257 Bolesław V the Chaste- a sovereign of Poland, a prince of Kraków and Sandomierz, located the Knights Templar in Łuków.
