Mariangelo Foggiato (Possagno, 19 April 1954) is a Venetist politician.
Having joined Liga Veneta-Lega Nord, he was elected to the Regional Council of Veneto in 1995. He however left that party in 1998, when he founded Liga Veneta Repubblica (LVR) along with Fabrizio Comencini.[1] He was national president of LVR until 1999 and then abandoned active politics.
In 2004 Foggiato returned to political activity as member of North-East Project (PNE), of which he was a founder, along with Giorgio Panto, and secretary until the foundation. He was elected again to the Regional Council in 2005, having trailed the new party to a big result in the Province of Treviso, where it won 15.6% of the vote.[2] As regional deputy, he is actively involved in the plan of transforming Veneto in an autonomous region, and, after the death of Panto, he became the practical leader of the party. In 2010 he was re-elected to the Council from North-East Union, a coalition comprising PNE, LVR and other Venetist parties.[1]
