- Yingshanosaurus
"Yingshanosaurus" is the informal name given to a
genus ofquadruped aldinosaur from theLate Jurassic , around 150 million years ago. It was astegosaur ian which lived in what is now China. The suggested "type species ", coined by Zhou in 1984, is "Yingshanosaurus jichuanensis", but this is only an informal designation, as the genus has not yet been fully described. A 2006 paper indicates that the only fossil specimen has been lost.cite journal| last = Maidment| first = Susannah C.R.| authorlink = | coauthors = Guangbiao Wei | title = A review of the Late Jurassic stegosaurs (Dinosauria, Stegosauria) from the People's Republic of China| journal = Geological Magazine| volume = 143| issue = 5| pages = 621-634| publisher = | location = | date = 2006| url = http://geolmag.geoscienceworld.org/cgi/content/abstract/143/5/621| doi = | id = | accessdate = 2008-06-29]Like all stegosaurians, "Yingshanosaurus" was an herbivorous dinosaur. It was similar to another stegosaurian, "
Tuojiangosaurus ". "Yingshanosaurus" had a pair of wing-like spines on its shoulders, which were flat, like the bony plates on its back.References
