Llanelli AACStebonheath Park ("Welsh: Parc Stebonheath") is a multi-use
stadium inLlanelli ,West Wales , primarily used as a football ground and home of Llanelli Association Football Club. The stadium is also the home ofLlanelli AAC , which caters for all standards of Track & Field Track & Field athletics,Cross-country running andRoad running .Local juniour football finals are held at the stadium. [http://www.llanelliaac.co.uk] . The stadium holds 3,700 people. The ground almost hosted League football in the 1930s but the club lost out and came second in the vote.
At the time the ground boasted a large wooden grandstand, a covered end terrace and a large bank on the south side - and could easily have been developed into a sound 3rd Division ground. The stand was demolished and the ground re-shaped to allow the building of the adjacent by-pass road.
For big games, the footall club have played at
Stradey Park , which is scheduled to be demolished in November 2008. It is expected that they will play major fixtures at Stradey's replacement, "Parc y Scarlets ", in the future. In July 2008, a new open seated stand was built on existing terracing along one side of the ground. There are approximatley 300 seats in the new stand. This has enabled Llanelli AFC to host European matches, the first being a UEFA Champions League qualifier against FK Ventspils.
