John Samuel Martin Fonblanque

John Samuel Martin Fonblanque (1760 – 4 January 1837) was a distinguished equity lawyer.

He was descended from a Huguenot family, his father having exchanged the surname 'de Grenier de Fonblanque' for that of Fonblanque on his naturalization. John was the author of a standard legal work, a "Treatise on Equity"; he was Member of Parliament (MP) for the borough of Camelford and was one of the Whig friends of King George IV when Prince of Wales. He was the father of Albany Fonblanque.
