Andreas Georg Gjersøe (born
6 August ,1976 inBærum ) is a Norwegian flatwater kayak racer. He placed fifth at theCanoeing at the 2004 Summer Olympics in the 1000 m K4kayak event.His best result at the world championships came in
Szeged , Hungary in 1998, when he was a member of the Norwegian K4 kayak crew that took the 200 m bronze medal. At the 1999 European championships inZagreb Gjersøe won the K2 200m silver medal with partnerNils Olav Fjeldheim . He was also a European K4 1000m silver medallist inPoznań , Poland, in 2004.In 2005, Gjersøe tested the experimental hydrofoil kayak, or
Flyak . Paddling solo, he beat Norway's four-man national team over a 200 m sprint.He is 182 cm (6 ft 0 in) tall and weighs 80 kg (176 lb).
