Andreas Gjersøe

Andreas Georg Gjersøe (born 6 August, 1976 in Bærum) is a Norwegian flatwater kayak racer. He placed fifth at the Canoeing at the 2004 Summer Olympics in the 1000 m K4 kayak event.

His best result at the world championships came in Szeged, Hungary in 1998, when he was a member of the Norwegian K4 kayak crew that took the 200 m bronze medal. At the 1999 European championships in Zagreb Gjersøe won the K2 200m silver medal with partner Nils Olav Fjeldheim. He was also a European K4 1000m silver medallist in Poznań, Poland, in 2004.

In 2005, Gjersøe tested the experimental hydrofoil kayak, or Flyak. Paddling solo, he beat Norway's four-man national team over a 200 m sprint.

He is 182 cm (6 ft 0 in) tall and weighs 80 kg (176 lb).
