Guy Park, also known as Guy Park State Historic Site, is a house built in 1773 for Guy Johnson. In 1774 the original house was struck by lightning and burnt to the ground. [Earle, pg. 69] Johnson left the house never to return in 1775 because of the American Revolutionary War. After many years as a tavern, the house has become a historical museum, with exhibits concerning Native Americans in the United States and the Erie Canal. The house is an example of Georgian architecture.
