Ahmet Mücahid Ören

Ahmet Mücahid Ören (born 1972), the chairman of [http://www.ihlas.com.tr/english Ihlas Holding's] media group, was born in Istanbul, Turkey. He studied economics at Anadolu University and also trained as a computer systems specialist.

He serves on the board of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences that awards the International Emmy for excellence in television. Oren is a board member of the [http://www.ewi.info EastWest Institute] . He is a member of such organizations as the World Economic Forum (WEF), the American-Turkish Council, the Turkish-German Businessmen’s Cultural Foundation and the Turkish Association of Journalists. In 2005, Oren was appointed the Honorary Consul of Latvia in New York State, United States. He also frequently contributes to international business summits including the World Economic Forum.

Oren is a citizen of both the United States and Turkey.
