In particular, GenderTalk is a media voice of and for the transgender community. It endeavors to serve the trans community by welcoming diverse guests and providing a supportive environment in which under-represented perspectives can be presented openly and honestly. GenderTalk is an all-volunteer organization that has been broadcasting in the Greater Boston area since 1995, and online since 1997.
GenderTalk covers all aspects of gender, including transgenderism,
transsexuality ,transvestism /crossdressing , and all forms of gender transgression, as well as gayness,lesbianism ,bisexuality ,feminism , and how all of these relate to gender in society at large. Hosted and run by transgender people, GenderTalk seeks out diverse new voices, both prominent and unknown, that challenge traditional or prevalent views.Other topics discussed
GenderTalk also discusses topics that may not be directly related to gender, but that its hosts find particularly interesting or informative. This includes discussions of areas like race,
ethnicity and class, where people are suffering for lack of a social climate more welcoming of the true diversity of life.
