Wolfgang Liebeneiner (
October 6 ,1905 -November 28 ,1987 ) was a Germanactor and film andtheater director .In 1928, he was taught by
Otto Falckenberg , the director of theMunich Kammerspiele , in acting and directing. In 1936, Liebeneiner became a member of thePrussian State Theater of Berlin ("Preußisches Staatstheater Berlin") and in 1938, he became artistic director of theGerman Film Academy Babelsberg ("Deutsche Filmakademie Babelsberg"). In 1941, he directed the film "Ich klage an " ("I accuse") in cooperation with the National Socialist ministry of propaganda. The film was about voluntary Euthanasia of a woman suffering frommultiple sclerosis , but was intended to support theT-4 Euthanasia Program . He received adoctorate in the years from 1942 to 1945 while working forUniversum Film AG , the largest Germanfilm studio at that time.In 1947, Wolfgang Liebeneiner directed the debut of
Wolfgang Borchert 's playDraußen vor der Tür in theHamburger Kammerspiele .Liebeneiner was married twice: first, from 1934 to the actress
Ruth Hellberg , then from 1944 to the actressHilde Krahl , with whom he had his daughterJohanna Liebeneiner , who also became a famous actress.He died on
