Dhyanamudra

Dhyanamudra, that is the gesture of meditation, is a sitting position depicted in a number of iconography associated with Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. In this yogic position, the person is depicted seated with both hands resting on his lap, the right hand over the left. The palms are kept turned upwards and fingers remain extended. The position of Dhyanamudra signifies a very high level of intense concentration focused on a single object of meditation.
