Adhiratha

Adhiratha

According to the Mahābhārata, Adhiratha (अधिरथ) was a charioteer, and was the foster father of Karna. According to some studies, Who|date=July 2007 he was king of Anga, currently the regions around Bhagalpur, Bihar, India; whereas according to others, a charioteer of King Dhritarashtra. According to a third opinion he was both.
