Jonathan Fenby

Jonathan Fenby (born 11 November 1942) is a British journalist, and was Editor of The Observer newspaper from 1993-1995.

In the 1970s he was Editor of Reuters World Service after being bureau chief in France. He was correspondent for The Economist in France and Germany and then Assistant Editor and Home Editor of The Independent when it launched in 1986 before working as Deputy Editor of The Guardian from 1988-93 and Editor of the South China Morning Post from 1995-1999. He was made a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) and a Knight of the French Order of Merit for services to journalism. He is currently Editor in Chief and China Editor of the analytical service, Trusted Sources. He is on the board of the European Journalism Centre and the British-Belgian Colloqium.
