Austin Frederic Harrison (1873-1928) was a British
journalist .Austin Harrison was son of the positivists
Frederic Harrison andEthel Bertha Harrison (1851-1916). After being tutored byGeorge Gissing , he was educated at St Paul's School andHarrow School . He worked for "The Times " and the "Manchester Guardian " beforeAlfred Harmsworth installed him as political editor of "The Observer " newspaper from 1904 to 1908. In 1909 he became editor of the "English Review ", which he bought out in 1915 and sold in 1923. He helped to foundInternational PEN in 1921.Works
