Glommadal

The Glommadal is a designation for the valley in Norway formed by the river Glomma. From lake Aursund in the north on south to Elverum the valley is called the Østerdal. From that point south until Kongsvinger is referred to as Solør. As in turns westerly from Kongsvinger until Nes in Romerike (Akershus county), the Glommadal valley is called the Odal valley. These designations are traditional districts, reflecting the designations locals used for their region.

Solør, Odal, Eidskog (which do not have any part of the Glomma pass through their municipality) as well as Kongsvinger are sometimes referred to as the traditional district Glåmdal.
