The Enemies of Christopher Columbus

The Enemies of Christopher Columbus

"The Enemies of Christopher Columbus" is Thomas A. Bowden's historical book arguing that "enemies" of Columbus are using him as a proxy to attack their real target: the values of Western civilization.

Bowden contends that Western civilization's core belief in the faculty of reason makes it superior to all other civilizations and asserts that other cultures should emulate the West and adopt its values. He claims that the West became great, not because of any 'racial' endowment but rather because it has exalted the use of reason.
