Split Kaštela/Resnik Airport airport codes|SPU|LDSP is the airport serving Split and Kaštela in Split-Dalmatia County, Croatia. It is close to the town of Trogir.

The airport is the second largest in Croatia in terms of passenger numbers (1,190,551 in 2007). It is an important hub for Croatia Airlines offering flights to many European cities such as; London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Rome and Paris.

Expansion plans

Starting in autumn 2007 and running through the year 2011, major overhaul works will be conducted at Split. By 2011, Resnik will have an expanded terminal, with 4 jetways. A new, larger apron will be built, because the present one is insufficient.

Expansion of Split Airport will happen in 3 phases.

*Phase One, 2008-2009
** Expansion of the airport ramp by 45,000 m²
** Adding an extra taxiway
** Purchase of Croatian Air Force and Defense land.

*Phase Two, 2009-2012
** Construction of a new 25,000 m² airport terminal with 4-5 jetways
** Construction of an 85,000 m² airport ramp

*Phase 3, 2011-2015
**Construction of 2nd runway
**Upgrading second runway to the Cat 3B
**Converting 1st runway into a taxiway
