Mike Morris (TV presenter)

Mike Morris (born 26 June 1947) is a British television presenter, perhaps best known as a co-host of Good Morning Britain on the breakfast television station TV-am on the ITV Network.

Mike was with TV-am from its inception in 1983. He began as the station's sports reporter, a job he held from 1983 to 1987, and then moved on to become a co-presenter on Good Morning Britain. From 1987 until the channel's closure at the end of 1992, he presented alongside Anne Diamond, Kathy Rochford, Kathryn Holloway, Kathy Tayler, Linda Mitchell, Maya Even and Lorraine Kelly.

Following the announcement that TV-am would cease broadcasting on December 31, 1992 and be replaced by GMTV the following day, Mike stated that he was "gutted", but that "it will be nice not to have to get up so early".[citation needed] When GMTV took to the air in January 1993, the daily tabloid newspaper, The Sun reported that a female viewer had called the show and asked "where is that Mike Morris?".[citation needed] Bosses at GMTV were quoted as saying "We regard this as a tribute to Mike and all the work he did at TV-am". He later made a brief return to breakfast television, where he presented GMTV's Sunday show "Sunday Best" during 1994.

After leaving GMTV, Mike continued to work for the ITV network, presenting on the Yorkshire Television news programme Calendar from 1996 to 2002.

As of 2007, Mike works for a company called Network Films.
