Leitir Mealláin (formerly also officially known as Lettermullen) is a small island on the west coast of Ireland in Connemara, County Galway situated approximately 36 miles from Galway city. Located at the far western end of Galway Bay, Leitir Mealláin is the western-most of three islands (Leitir Mealláin, Tír an Fhia and Leitir Móir, collectively Garmna) (formerly also Gorumna) connected to the mainland via bridges and causeways.

Leitir Mealláin is part of the Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking) regions of Ireland and Irish is the language most commonly spoken. The name derives from the Irish Leitir Mealláin meaning "Mealláin's rough hillside" (leitir = rough hillside).
