Heera Lal Shastri

Heera Lal Shastri was the first chief minister of Rajasthan, a large parochial state in northern India. He was chief minister of the state from 7 April 1949 to 5 January 1951. [cite web|url=http://rajassembly.nic.in/cm-photo.htm|title=Indian Government Webpage - Chief Minister's Photo Gallery]

On October 6, 1935 Pandit Heera Lal Shastri and Ratan Shastri founded Banasthali Vidyapith in memory of their daughter Shantabai [ [http://www.indiaeducation.ernet.in/insitutions/PROFILENEW1.ASP?no=U02019 Banasthali Vidyapith ] ] .
