R. L. Stine 's "Goosebumps : Series 2000". It is about a girl named Allison Moore who finds a strange gray cat named Rip that scratches her, but the scratches glow and heal quickly. As the story progresses, Allison becomes more and more like a cat, and finds out that Rip has a disease that turns its victims cat-like and eventually kills them by taking a bit of their life with him.Trivia
The book was first published in January 1998. The story bears a close resemblance to Stine's earlier short story "
The Cat's Tale ".TV Adaptation
In the TV version of this episode, the protagonist is a teen actress who is starring in the film version of a horror movie called "Cry of the Cat". The rest of the plot follows the original story. The cat keeps coughing and coughing and coughing because he swallowed a toy mouse. Also in the TV adaption, a special cameo included the exact same sign that appeared in the TV episode "one day at Horrorland".
