illegal immigrants . He co-sponsored a bill in the House, similar to the one submitted by State Senator Greenip that would require driver's license applicants to prove they are citizens of the United States. [ [http://www.hometownannapolis.com/cgi-bin/read/2007/03_09-45/GOV Story expired! McConkey has been involved in several real estate transactions that have led to legal charges, sanctions or out-of-court settlements. In 1995, McConkey was disbarred and had his real estate license temporarily suspended as the result of a fraudulent land deal and missing funds from McConkey's attorney escrow account. In 2008, he reached a confidential settlement with a Crofton couple regarding the transfer of their house deed. As of Spring 2008, he is currently the focus of another civil lawsuit alleging 'foreclosure rescue fraud'.
