Roll Caskett (ロール・キャスケット) is a video game character, the adoptive "sister" of MegaMan Trigger, and a character in the Legends series of Mega Man games. Similar to the original Rock and Roll pun from the original Mega Man (Rock Man) games, Roll's name combined with her grandfather Barrel refers to the barrel roll aerial maneuver.

History

Roll Caskett is the granddaughter of Barrell Caskett and adopted sister of Mega Man; she also serves as his "Spotter" on his missions and helps craft new items for him.

Ten years before the events of Legends 2, her parents Banner and Matilda mysteriously disappeared during their attempted venture into Forbidden Island. It was then that her grandfather began raising the then four year old Roll. Now 14, Roll is a brilliant mechanical genius who builds and maintains everything mechanical for the Caskett family, from the Flutter to Mega Man's weapons.

Personality

While the original version of Roll (Mega Man Classic) offered little more than just being a support role to her brother Mega Man during his adventures against Dr. Wily, Roll Caskett is considerably more involved in Mega Man Trigger's adventures. Roll is responsible not only for building and upgrading Mega Man's weapons and other equipment, but also serves as a Spotter (or guide) for Mega Man.

Roll is sweet-natured, and quite energetic when it comes to her engineering abilities; but she is constantly plagued with worry about MegaMan, whose duties as a Digger tend to put him in considerable danger. Though she certainly knows better than to try to come along with him, Roll devotes herself to doing whatever she can to help. She is extremely protective of him.

According to the dialog within Mega Man Legends 2, Roll named MegaMan after "one of her favorite video game characters." [Rumage, Estil. [http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/game/197897.html "GameFAQs - Megaman Legends 2: Game Script"] ] However, this name explanation did not exist in Rockman DASH 2 (it was Barrell who named him Rock, after the Rock 'n' Roll pun).
