* The lyrics to the whole album are written byPatrick Stump , mainly about how he felt in high school. On later albums,Pete Wentz took over primary lyric writing.
* "Pretty in Punk" is a play on the title of the John Hughes movie, "Pretty in Pink "directed by Howard Deutch.
* This is the only Fall Out Boy album not featuringAndy Hurley on drums.
* The photograph on the cover of this album was shot in Chicago's Pick Me Up Café located at 3408 N. Clark Street.
* The address listed in the CD booklet is Pete Wentz's parents' home address.
* Contrary to popular belief (due to differences in Patrick Stump's voice), Pete Wentz did not sing lead vocals in any songs on the album.
* The songs "Switchblades and Infidelity", "Growing Up", and "Moving Pictures" were originally from their Split EP with Project Rocket.
* "Calm Before the Storm" was later re-recorded for "Take This to Your Grave ".
* In theiTunes version of the album, the (For Five Tired Boys in a Broken Down Van) and (But I'm Gonna Give it My Best Shot) is not included in "The World's Not Waiting" and "Parker Lewis Can't Lose" title; also, the iTunes remastered version cut off a minute and eleven seconds of "Switchblades and Infidelity".
