Acadian Coast

Acadian Coast

The Acadian Coast is a name sometimes applied to the section of Louisiana along the Mississippi River settled by the exiled Acadians after about 1760. While applying particularly to the present Saint James Parish, the term is sometimes used to designate the scattered Acadian settlements on the Mississippi as far as the mouth of the Red River.
