According to ISI, "Analytical Chemistry" was the most-cited journal in the field of analytical chemistry in 2004, with 59,525 total citations, as well as #1 in impact factor (5.450) among journals publishing 100 or more articles in 2004. [ [http://pubs.acs.org/4librarians/isi.html#analchem ACS Reports of ISI Information] ] The impact factor in 2005 of this journal was 5.64.

The journal also publishes a magazine-format special section for features and news articles, formerly referred to as the "A-pages" because of its different numbering scheme. In 2006, the A-pages were merged into the main journal numbering. [ [http://pubs.acs.org/journals/ancham/index_magazine.html Analytical Chemistry: A-Pages] ]
