Baker Boy founder Marvin Moos grew up in
New Salem, North Dakota where his family owned and operated a bakery. DuringWorld War II , Moos served as a baker in the Navy. Following the war, he studied baking at Dunwoody’s Institute in Minneapolis. After working at several bakeries for the next few years, Moos opened the Baker Boy Bake Shop inHebron, North Dakota in 1955. In 1957, the business was moved toDickinson, North Dakota . The bakery did well in Dickinson and the Moos family started several other businesses including a diner, a pizza house and café, and a donut shop named "The Donut Hole".In 1978, the Moos family sold several of their businesses and used the money from the sale to build a convert|3000|sqft|m2|sing=on facility to manufacture frozen dough products. The facility was completed in July 1979. Demand for the company's products grew quickly and they expanded into new markets. Today, the Baker Boy facility in Dickinson is an convert|86000|sqft|m2|sing=on complex capable of producing over 30,000 cases of product each week. Marvin Moos son, Guy Moos, is now the president of the company.
