James Ransone (born 2 June, 1979) is an American actor. He graduated from Carver Center for Arts and Technology in Towson, Maryland in 1997.

He played Ziggy Sobotka in the second season of HBO's "The Wire", and Corporal Josh Ray Person in the Iraq war-based mini-series "Generation Kill".
