Try Some, Buy Some

Try Some, Buy Some

"Try Some, Buy Some" is a song written by George Harrison and released on his "Living in the Material World" in 1973. It was initially recorded by Ronnie Spector in 1971 and co-produced by Phil Spector, Harrison re-used the same backing track for his own version.

The original Ronnie Spector version was released on April 19, 1971 on Apple Records. In the U.S., the catalog number was 1832; in the UK, it was Apple 33. It debuted on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart on May 8, 1971 and reached #77, remaining on the chart for four weeks. The single did not chart in England. Its B-side was the George and Phil collaboration, "Tandoori Chicken", which is rumoured to have John Lennon on backing vocals. There was a picture sleeve released with the single. The B-Side's melody bears a resemblance to "Ain't That A Shame", later covered by Lennon on "Rock & Roll" and McCartney on "Tripping the Live Fantastic".

David Bowie recorded it in 2003 for his album "Reality". The song was occasionally performed live on the "Reality Tour", and a version recorded at the Riverside Studios, Hammersmith, London, 8 September 2003 was released on the "Tour Edition" of "Reality".
