- James Richardson (television presenter)
James Richardson is the presenter for Setanta Sports' "The Friday Football Show" alongside Des Lynam.
He may be best remembered as the anchor for "Football Italia", Bravo TV (UK)'s live coverage of Serie A, as well as "Gazzetta Football Italia" which aired on the same channel. He also presented British Eurosport's live Tour de France coverage. He is known for his distinctive appearance, witty one-liners and crisp delivery from famous landmarks around Italy, usually involving an untouched dessert.
Prior to presenting the show on Bravo, Richardson fronted "Football Italia" on Channel 4 from 1992 to 2002, and British Eurosport's coverage of the Serie A from 2002 to 2005.
He is a keen supporter of AS Roma, as a result of his ex-girlfriend being a supporter of them.
He also currently contributes to Haymarket's leading football magazine, "FourFourTwo", as their Italian football correspondent. He has a regular column on the "Guardian Unlimited" website, and hosts their "Football Weekly" series of podcasts. Prior to hosting that show he fronted The Guardian's "The World Cup Show" for the 2006 World Cup. Richardson was also the voice behind a series of Euro 2008 previews leading up to the final tournament in June.
Richardson shares a name with James Richardson Spensley, who is said to be the founding father of football in Italy.
