BS-table|The Trondhjem–Støren Line ( _no. Trondhjem–Størenbanen) was Trøndelag's first
railway . It opened in 1864, ten years after theHoved Line betweenOslo andEidsvoll opened. The 49 kilometer long (later 51.1 km) railway line was narrow gauged (1067 millimeter) and went betweenTrondheim and theStøren village inMidtre Gauldal municipality in the county ofSør-Trøndelag ,Norway . The railway had its station inPrinsens Street , and crossed theNidelva river on a newly constructed railroad bridge toElgeseter , theElgeseter Bridge .In 1877 the line was joined with the the
Røros Line , which went through theØsterdalen betweenRøros andHamar . In 1884 the railway tracks were relocated to the west side of the Nidelva and joined with theMeråker Line and the new railway station atBrattøra , which had opened in 1882. This went through atunnel atNidareid to Brattøra. In 1918 new tracks were laid toHeimdal overSelsbakk . In 1921 the railway was converted to standard gauge and became a part of theDovre Line .ee also
