Vernon Chatman (born circa 1972) is a
television producer ,writer ,voice actor ,stand-up comedian ,musician and a member ofPFFR , an art collective based in Brooklyn, NYC.Together with long time friend John Lee (also of PFFR), he is the creator,
executive producer , writer and star of theMTV2 series "Wonder Showzen " and theAdult Swim series "". The pair met as undergraduates atSan Francisco State University . He is probably best known as the voice ofTowelie , themarijuanna -smoking talking towel on "South Park ".Previously, Chatman worked as a consultant for "
South Park " and as a staff writer for "The Chris Rock Show " (for which he won anEmmy ), "Late Night with Conan O'Brien ", "That's My Bush! " and "The Downer Channel ". Before Wonder Showzen, he and John Lee created and co-wrote "Doggy Fizzle Televizzle " forMTV .Many interviews given by Vernon Chatman (usually along with John Lee and/or PFFR) tend to be unpredictable and silly. However, when serious he proves to be eloquent, informative and entertaining.

Matt Stone claimed that Chatman's subtle African-American accent is apparently easy to hear, through Towelie's voice.His father was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana.
