Henry Wilcoxen

Henry Wilcoxen

Henry Wilcoxen was a British actor, born September 8, 1905 in the British West Indies. Wilcoxen was perhaps best known for being one of director Cecil B. DeMille's favorite actors, appearing in the director's hits such as 1949's "Samson and Delilah" and 1956's "The Ten Commandments" in addition to having the lead role of Marc Antony in DeMille's 1934 film "Cleopatra" and Richard the Lion Hearted in "The Crusades" in 1935.

After DeMille died, Wilcoxen's film output became sporadic and he took on smaller roles.

Wilcoxen was married twice, and had three children from his marriage to Joan Woodbury.

He died March 6, 1984 in Los Angeles, California of heart failure.
