Annette Pehnt (born
25 July 1967 in Köln) is a Germanwriter and literary critic. She lives inFreiburg inBaden-Württemberg .After graduating from school in 1986 Pehnt performed voluntary
social work inBelfast (Northern Ireland ). After a year living inScotland , she studied English, Celtic studies andGerman language and literature at the universities inKöln ,Galway (Ireland), Berkeley (California ) andFreiburg (Breisgau). After her masters degree and the first national examination in 1994, graduation followed in 1997 at theUniversity of Freiburg with a work onIrish literature .Since 1992 Annette Pehnt, married and mother of three children, has lived as a literature critic and self-employed author in Freiburg and teaches at the university there. For her literary work, she was awarded the Förderpreis in 2001, the artist's prize of
Northrhine-Westphalia and the Mara-Cassens-prize (2002).Books
