Apostasia

Apostasy, deriving from απο, "apo", "away, apart", στασις, "stasis", "standing".

Also derived from αποστάτης, meaning "political rebel", as applied to rebellion against God, its law and the faith of Israel (in מרד) in the old testament.

There were several uses of the term Apostasia:

* Apostasia of 1965, a series of political events in Greece, which toppled the legally elected government of George Papandreou, senior.

* Apostasia orchid, a genus of primitive orchids (family Orchidaceae), comprising 7 terrestrial species.

The term apostasia is rehabilitated from its pejorative sense in the phrase "divine apostasia," which is understood to mean an inability to articulate given the tools (or limitations rather) of language. This sense of the term apostasia asserts the moral humility and/or wisdom of silence and hesitance of speech and writing.
