Leopoldo Dante Tévez (b.
March 22 ,1942 ), known as Leo Dan, is an Argentinesinger born inAtamisqui ,Santiago del Estero Province . He recorded more than 20 albums during his long career during the late 20th century between Argentina andMexico . His appreciation for Mexican music led him to record with mariachis, and from there he went to international fame. His music was well received by the Mexican public since his voice was a good match to the traditional mariachi sound.His greatest hits include "Como Te Extraño", "Mari es Mi Amor" "Celia", "Pide Me La Luna", "Esa Pared" and "Toquen Mariachis Canten", to name a few.
Leo Dan lives in the United States. He and
Palito Ortega are considered the two principal Argentine singers of Nueva Ola (New Wave) music that was popular in the 60's and 70's inLatin America . With a mellow voice and a singular interpretation style, Leo Dan is one of the most recognized figures in latin music.
