Rewind (software)

Rewind (software)

Rewind is an open source project to implement a compatibility layer for the Microsoft Windows API on UNIX with X11. It supports FreeBSD, Solaris and Linux. It grew out of the original MIT Licensed WINE project after WINE changed its license to the GNU LGPL in March 2002.

As of October 2005, Rewind appears to be dead. The SourceForge project name and page (http://rewind.sf.net) have been recycled for an unrelated program, and the Rewind homepage previously at http://transgaming.org/rewind/ gives a 404 error. Part of the source files for Rewind were merged into WineX CVS.
