Purushottam Khedekar

Purushottam Khedekar

Purushottam Khedekar is a hard-line Maratha activist from Maharashtra, India. Originally a PWD engineer, Khedekar is the founder of the Maratha Seva Sangh (MSS), an organization claiming to strive for the revival of Maratha glory. He is also the founder of the more controversial radical organization Sambhaji Brigade, known for their fanatic anti-Brahminical stance. Sambhaji Brigade came into the limelight after attacking some scholars and ransacking the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute, who it claims allegedly helped a foreign author in writing derogatory anecdotes about Shivaji, the first Maratha ruler of the Maratha Empire.

Family

Purushottam Khedekar is married to Rekha Khedekar who is a politician and member of predominantly Bharatiya Janta Party.

New religion

He is the founder of Shiv Dharma, a new "religion" based on the equality. Khedekar however claims that he is only assisting the revival of ancient dharma of "Bahujan" (majority) which is based on equality rather than Brahmin supremacy.

Books Published

The titles of his controversial books are listed below
1. The End of Brahminism
2. Increase reservation for non-brahmins and build the country
3. Maratha Declare war on Brahmanism
4. Bahujan Sodha (Searching religion for majority)
