North China lizard") was agenus ofdinosaur from the LateCretaceous (Campanian stage, around 75 million years ago). It was asauropod which lived in what is present-day northernChina . Thetype species , "Huabeisaurus allocotus", was first described by Pang and Cheng in 2000. The dinosaur closely resembles "Opisthocoelicaudia ", and was a quadrupalherbivore . "Huabeisaurus" is known from numerous remains, which include teeth, partial limbs and vertebrae. The discoverers erected a new family for the genus,Huabeisauridae , although this family name is not widely used amongst paleontologists.References
