ZML is a web-based video on demand (VOD) and electronic sell-through (EST) service offering movies and other videos for rental or purchase to users worldwide. [cite news

date = 2008-02-21 ] It has a selection of over 2,500 films to download. Films are offered in DivX and h264 formats and available in several resolutions, below DVD quality. The website includes editors' picks, plot summaries of each movie, customer reviews, screen stills, and IMDB ratings. Films cost between $2-5 to purchase, depending on the quality and length of the movie. Contrary to most VOD services, ZML offers content free of digital rights management.

Similar to the mp3 service AllOfMP3 from the same developers, the legality of the service is questionable. The service is completely legal in Russia, giving 15% of the price to the Russian Organization for Multimedia and Digital Systems. The legality for other countries is disputed,however.
