Eisosome

Eisosome

Eisosomes are large immobile protein assemblies at the plasma membrane which mark the site of endocytosis in eukaryotes. Prior to their identification in the yeast "Saccharomyces cerevisiae", sites of endocytosis were thought to be chosen at random.
