Aslockton railway station serves the villages of Aslockton and Whatton in Nottinghamshire. The station is 17 km (10¾ miles) east of Nottingham on the Nottingham-Skegness Line.
History
It is located on the line first opened by the Ambergate, Nottingham, Boston and Eastern Junction Railway in 1850 and taken over by the Great Northern Railway [Kingscott, G., (2004) "Lost Railways of Nottinghamshire," Newbury: Countryside Books]
The station itself was opened by the Great Northern Railway in 1857. The station buildings were designed by Thomas Chambers Hine.
Current Services
There is generally a two-hourly service each day westbound to Nottingham and eastbound to Grantham and Skegness.
