Iser Kuperman

Iser Kuperman, sometimes spelled Koeperman, (April 21 1922 - March 6 2006) was an originally Ukrainian player of international draughts. He was born in Kiev and emigrated to the United States in 1978. He was world champion in 1958, 1959, 1961, 1963, 1965, 1967, and 1974.

After that he became a champion in pool checkers and won in their "Top Master" division from 1984 to 1990. This led him to be referred to as "The Greatest Pool Checkers player of all time" by the Homan Square Pool Checkers & Chess Club of Chicago. [ [http://hspccc.com/20gp/IserKuperman.htm HSPCCC] ]

Iser Yosifcovich Kuperman (April 21, 1922 - March 6, 2006) è stato uno dei più grandi giocatori di dama al mondo. Nacque in Ucraina nel lontano 1922. Da giovane decise di dedicarsi agli scacchi, sperando di ottenere risultati importanti. Il destino però volle che proprio cercando un'aula in cui si doveva tenere una lezione di scacchi, incappò in una lezione di dama: il giovane Iser vide un problema alla lavagna e dopo pochi minuti lo risolse. Da quel momento decise che si sarebbe dedicato alla dama.I risultati di quest'uomo sono stati straordinari.Prima divenne campione nazionale di dama russa per circa 6 volte. Poi passò alla dama internazionale (100 caselle), disciplina in cui riuscì a vincere il titolo di campione del mondo per ben 7 volte (1958, 1959, 1961, 1963, 1965, 1967, e 1974).
